Thursday's TASE Markets Closing Positively

Tel Aviv--The week ended on Ahad HaAm Street on a positive note.

At the beginning of this work week, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) was falling. Stocks trading was closing down.

At the close of yesterday's and today's stocks and bonds trading it appears that the TASE is in recovery mode.

The TA-25 rose slightly, staying above its 1000 mark. This rise still shows optimism in the Israeli economy, albeit the rocky U.S. economy.

Many Israeli companies are also traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange, located in New York City.

At 10 a.m. New York time, 5 p.m., Tel Aviv time, the Nasdaq was ascending upward, past its 2081 mark. At the same time the Dow Jones Industrial Average was also in an upward trend, crossing its 9907 mark.

According to the Bank of Israel (BOI), the U.S. Dollar (U.S.D.) was trading at 3.7920 New Israeli Shekels. (N.I.S.) This was a negative change from the 2 November 2009, when one U.S.D. was trading at a peak of 3.0806 N.I.S.

At the close of active trading on Thursday on the TASE, the General index closed at 871.73, up 0.59%. The TA-25 index closed at 1,022.64, up 0.60%. The TA-100 index closed at 955.17, up 0.67%. The TA-75 index closed at 736.74, up 0.77%. The Tel-Tech 15 index closed at 226.08, up 1.16%. The Finance-15 index closed at 1,038.82, up 0.13%. The Estate-15 index closed at 291.36, down 1.36%. The TA-Banks index closed at 1,094.45, up 0.01%. The Tel - Div 20 index closed at 1,196.77, up 0.96%. The Maala index closed at 892.34, up 0.48%. the Mid-Cap 50 index closed at 401.94, down 0.66%. The Mid Cap-120 index closed at 791.10, down 0.44%. The Yeter-Rest of Shares & Convertibles index closed at 843.91, up 0.33%.

Turing to the bonds trading at the close of TASE Thursday's markets, the All Bonds index closed at 244.59, up 0.15%.
The CPI Linked Government Bonds (Galil) index closed at 248.73, up 0.20%. The Non-Linked Government Bonds index closed at 293.29, up 0.14%. The Non-Linked, Fixed Interest, Gov. Bonds (Shahar) index closed at 321.76, up 0.19%. The Non-Linked , Floating Interest, Gov. Bonds (Gilon) index closed at 251.81, up 0.01%. The Tel-Bond 20 index closed at 247.44, up 0.19%. The Tel-Bond 40 index closed at 234.33, up 0.17%. The Tel-Bond 60 index closed at 241.67, up 0.18%. The CPI-Linked Non-Government Bonds index closed at 239.85, up 0.18%. The Currency-Linked, Non-Government Bonds index closed at 169.78, down 0.08%. The Short Term Treasury Bill index closed at 250.70, up 0.02%.
