Wednesday's Markets Sunny

Tel Aviv--Sunny skies were seen across the Tel Aviv region as the rains stopped this morning.

As the weather got better, so did the mood on Ahad HaAm Street today.

Markets on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) were up at the close of today's trading.

About 10 a.m., New York Time, 5 p.m., Tel Aviv time, both the Nasdaq and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) started up slightly.

At the same time, there was a upward momentum on the trading at the TASE markets' close.

Real estate stocks showed strong showing as that index was up by 4.11% the close of active trading.

On that index, Africa Israel Properties, based in Tel Aviv, was up 4.89%, closing at 5769. On 1 October 2009, in a release on the TASE, the company announced that the TASE General Manager approved its offering of addition stock shares for trading.

Bayside Land, also known on the TASE as Gav Ram, based in Haifa, was up by 4.35%, closing at 93500. On 4 November 2009, the company announced in a release to the TASE that there was a change in the amount of shares that those with a controlling interest held.

At the close of Wednesday's close of the markets on the TASE, the General index closed at 866.58, up 2.29%. The TA-25 index closed at 1,016.58, up 2.49%. The TA-100 index closed at 948.81, up 2.66%. The TA-75 index closed at 731.14, up 3.06%. The Tel-Tech 15 index closed at 223.48, up 2.88%. The Finance-15 index closed at 1,037.42, up 3.43%. The Estate-15 index closed at 295.37, up 4.11%. The TA-Banks index closed at 1,094.35, up 3.66%. The Tel - Div 20 index closed at 1,185.39, up 2.40%. The Maala index closed at 888.05, up 2.24%. The Mid-Cap 50 index closed at 404.62, up 2.92%. The Mid Cap-120 index closed at 794.57, up 2.35%. The Yeter-Rest of Shares & Convertibles index closed at 841.10, up 1.54%.

Turing to the bonds trading on the TASE, the All Bonds index closed at 244.23, up 0.11%. The CPI Linked Government Bonds (Galil) index closed at 248.24, with no change in trading volume from yesterday's markets' close.
The Non-Linked Government Bonds index closed at 292.87, down 0.06%. The Non-Linked, Fixed Interest, Gov. Bonds (Shahar) index closed at 321.16, down 0.09%. The Non-Linked , Floating Interest, Gov. Bonds (Gilon) index closed at 251.78, up 0.04%. The Tel-Bond 20 index closed at 246.98, up 0.64%. The Tel-Bond 40 index closed at 233.94, 0.50%. The Tel-Bond 60 index closed at 241.24, up 0.57%. The CPI-Linked Non-Government Bonds index closed at 239.43, up 0.42%. The Currency-Linked, Non-Government Bonds index closed at 169.92, down 0.06%. The Short Term Treasury Bill index closed at 250.66, with no change from the close of yesterday's markets.
